Our Vision is to be a discipling community that demonstrates the abundant life found in knowing Jesus. Finding Life
“. . . I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” - Jesus (John 10:10 NIV)
We believe that there is more to life than just existing in a daily “survival mode.” Real life is found in knowing Jesus in personal relationship. That is the life that Jesus died to give us. It is the life that has been proven to be real by His resurrection. Jesus offers us the reality of life that is found nowhere else (John 14:6).
Living in personal relationship with Jesus means being His disciple.
Sharing Life
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)
A disciple of Jesus is a person who loves Jesus in the context of a personal relationship with Him. A disciple also shows the character of Jesus by loving others in practical ways and inviting them to have a personal relationship with Jesus. A disciple of Jesus will be used by God to make disciples. Jesus states this reality in Matthew 28:18-20, which is commonly known as the Great Commission. This is Jesus’ mission for us both individually and as a church.
The Great Commission is the reason Life Church of Titusville exists!!
We believe that the church is defined by people, not by places, and those people are called by Jesus to join Him in the fulfillment of His mission.
Life Church operates on the following core principles:
1. What God is doing He is doing through all of His people.
According to the Bible, “minister” is not some title applied to a select few (Isaiah 61:1-6). For example, 1 Peter 2:1-9 uses the term “priesthood” to refer to all believers! Ministry is the reality of joining God in what He is doing. It is being a coworker with Him for the fulfillment of His purposes in the lives of others (1 Corinthians 3:9, 2 Corinthians 6:1). As is true with all believers, every believer who is part of Life Church is to serve as a minister, applying his or her God-given talents and aptitudes in practical ministry.
Ministry is what God does through the believer, which results from how He is teaching and developing that believer through the believer’s personal relationship with Him.
Ministry is the practical expression of the character of Jesus through the life of the believer into the lives of others.
The leadership of Life Church will provide the needed information by which all those who are part of our fellowship can be connected to and used in practical areas of ministry both within and outside of Life Church.
2. What God is doing He is doing through disciples and discipling communities for the purpose of giving every man, woman, and child the opportunity to respond to the gospel, which is the good news of the life that is found only in knowing Jesus.
We are privileged to be part of something so much bigger than ourselves. Life Church is just one small part of what the Bible calls the Body of Christ, which is made up of all those who live in personal relationship with Jesus by trusting in what Jesus did on the cross to make them righteous (in right relationship with God) (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 4:1-16, Romans 3:21-28).
When every man, woman, and child in a community has an opportunity to respond to the gospel, gospel saturation has happened. We will increasingly collaborate with other churches and organizations within the Body of Christ in Titusville to see this become a reality in our community.
We will increasingly work with non-profit and civic organizations in our community who are working to make a practical difference in people’s lives, coordinating with their efforts as a way of reflecting the love of Jesus in ways people understand.
In joyful obedience to the Great Commission, we will increasingly be a “go and do” church, not just a “come and see” church.
3. What God is doing He is doing through ministry leaders who view equipping other believers for the practical fulfillment of the Great Commission as their first priority (Ephesians 4:11-16).
Every ministry that happens through Life Church is for the purpose of making and developing disciples of Jesus.
Every ministry at Life Church is to be a way by which disciples of Jesus are equipped to effectively establish relationships with others by which people are practically shown the love of Jesus and are brought into personal relationship with Him.
